Career Development Loan
I'm applying for a CDL to fund my masters course, starting this September. I was under the impression that since I've been unemployed for over 3 months (doing unpaid internship type placements) I was eligible to apply for 100% of the course fees.
However, I was just checking CDL application pack and it states "the loan can cover up to 80% of the course fees; or 100% of the course fees if you have been registered unemployed for 3 months or more at the time you apply". I've been supported by my family whilst completing my internships so I'm not registered unemployed and not claiming jobseekers. Does this mean I can only apply for 80% of the course fees?
There is some ambiguity because on the Barclays application form, next to the "Amount needed for course fees" section, they state "This should be no more than 80% of the total fees. If you have been out of work 3 months or longer at the time you apply for a CDL, you may be able to apply for 100% of the course fees". This doesn't mention anything about being registered or not registered as unemployed.
Can anyone clear this up for me?
Thanks in advance.
