PayPlan

Hi,
what are peoples experience of this company, I had never heard of them until last night when
I contacted them today & they took all my details but as I live in Scotland they are passing my details to up here & they will call me back in the next few days.
I did have an appointment with CAB yesterday but it lasted 3 hours & if I am being honest all they did was copy all the info I had taken and I was to go back on Monday. The chap was lovely that I was dealing with but was elderly and didnt seem really capable.
Have I done the right this by going to Payplan or should I have waited until Monday & seen what CAB suggested.
Help !

  • Depends on your debts!

I didn't find them very helpful as my debts were under £5k I got sent the info and told to do a self managed DMP. CCCS were very helpful but not sure if you can use them in scotland.

I work for a paid debt management company but to be honest I've never had any dealings with some of the free services.

One of the most important things is their ability to negotiate with the creditor to reduce interest and charges and perhaps arrange a full & final if you are ever in that position.

I'd recommend that if you use them to constantly monitor your accounts to make sure the balances are going down.
  • Always use a free service.

Why pay fees when you can put the cost of the fees to your debts!

call me sceptical i have a feeling they may pm u and promise the earth..... pls pls pls do not go with any fee charging company they really can do no more for you than any of the free companies, there are no guarantees with a DMP no matter what any fee charging company may say.... the only guarantee is that £x of your money will line their pockets monthly rather than go towards your debt :)

Can this day get any worse...daughter just called to say she didnt have enough money for bus fare ( she has just turned 13 & is a young 13) she is distraught - have had to phone school office to ask them to give her 50p or she will be walking home in the rain.

As well as the car parking ticket wrongly issued to us yesterday when we were in the CAB office for nearly 3 hours we are certainly have lots of issues with money just now - LOL !

BTW.....a ranting and furious husband got the parking supervisor to cancel the ticket - 1 one for us !
