Hi , I have used this website before but I am just registering today.
Today has been a bit of weird day.
I have been needing to deal with my debt now for a few months but today I phoned PayPlan, I gave them all my details & they are going to look into what they can do for me.
Any thoughts on what they are like....I am so stressed out that I feel unwell & trying to shield my daughter from all this is doing me no good.
Sorry for being so negative but feeling very confused/anxious & depressed

I work for a (not free) debt management company myself but to be honest I've never had any dealings with Payplan or CCCS. They should be fine just make sure that if you use them that you constantly monitor the balances on your accounts to make sure the payments are going through and that interest and charges are frozen.
Perhaps if you post a list of your debts and a SOA some of the members on here can help you.0 -
My issues are a personal loan, a credit card & an overdraft all with the same bank.
I was hoping that I will be able to stop the interest & charges and still make a payment of about £500 to be split amongst them. The debt in total is about £35000 so not sure if that will be enough.
I really am worried about losing my house as I only have approx another 5 years to go & my mortgage will be paid - I have never missed a mortgage payment in the 20 years I have had it.0 -
mine are £31,000 and i pay £480 per month.... so kinda similar.... with regards to the house etc am in such a position mortgage still has 16 yrs to run
however in scotland the rules for ccj etc are slightly different and if the house is in joint names this also means any charging order is served on the person rather than the property and means that person cannot sell the property without clearing the charging order 1st, this last for 5 years as far as im aware.... if u have no intentions of selling ( as we dont) i wouldnt let this worry u too much ... with regards to creditors forcing sale of the property am not 100% on this we have little equity so havent really looked into this much... however as far as i can make out if you are making payments in accordance with your soa and keeping up with your dmp this can only look favourable to any court..... apologies if info incorrect am sure someone more knowledgeable will correct if needed x LBM April 2012.... I am pretty similar too, with £39195 owing and £372 to pay a month, it is very stressful at the start, I am hoping it will settle down and I can just plod along and see the debt go down instead of up, and save up for some full and final payments.ISA £1675

Thanks everyone - you have all been so helpful & its great to know that I am not alone in this struggle.
I am just hoping to get through the next 5 years & then without my mortgage to pay I can then put that payment towards what is remaining on the debt.
I just wish I hadn't let it get to this stage and I am concerned that I wont have the willpower to keep me on track.0 -
