I'm going to be renting for a long time however eventually a mortgage is going to have to be looked at and I'm probably going to be the higher earner so we won't be able to get a mortgage without me on it.

I wish I could go to the younger me and shake some sense into me, the number of nights were £100 was the norm!Total Debt: £4610.75

hmmmm well at least it is an option, be it now or a few years down the line. It takes 28 days to create a habit (apparently!!) so get on the ball now. You've got your target so go for it

I know! £100 apparently is the 'norm' these days for one night out. And a lot of kids are out Fri and Sat nights!!! Scary! I'm trying to live on £100 a week to include shopping, toiletries, petrol and treats!

Selling is good
I've managed a few things on ebay. Free listing is great but final selling fee is a bummer. Plus paypal fees too
Went through TopCashBack yesterday and got £10.10 from signing up for free credit report on Equifax
On MySurvey too but seems to be forever getting points up. But every little helps
Take packed lunches for work? Plan your evening meal times and do a shopping to cover the week, and bulk buy, rather than buying each day. And get your veg and meat from the reduced section in the supermarket!
Oh, and bread for your lunches! We go through a loaf a day easily with breakfast/lunches/supper so £1-£1.50 a loaf just isn't an option. 20p on the other hand is very acceptable!

I spent £80 at the super market so I could take lunch into work and make sure I didn't buy any coffee's by getting a plunger thingy and coffee. I felt very guilty but I'm hoping that the reduced cost in spending will help me feel less guilty.
Food shopping for dinner isn't such an issue as currently I'm at my parents for another two month's till I move nearer to work and they have said not to worry and just help mum with her business.Total Debt: £4610.75

Sounds scary when you think of paying £80 for a shop, but 1 jar of coffee for £3-£4 which will last 50 cups, instead of £2 a coffee? You're saving nearly £100 on that alone! :j
I don't get these people who go out for their lunch and spend £5-£10 a day? Can never understand smokers either but never been one so can't really say anything...
That's good! Help with the business/chores to 'earn' your food

I also do not have any cash and don't walk into town for lunch anymore.Total Debt: £4610.75

:rotfl: the irony!!!
Not any more you're not! We all learn the hard way.
I had to stop working with my debit card and start carrying cash. I found it easier to control my spending as I could see what I was handing over. It's the 'in town at lunch' bit that I do have a problem with, hence my thread
