Bankruptcy and going abroad on holiday.

Was declared bankrupt last September and just want to know about going abroad on holiday. The holiday would not be paid for by myself but u was told you had to apply to the master of bankruptcy to ask if you can go abroad, and who is paying for it etc. How would the bankruptcy agency know if you went abroad and didn't tell them? Do they have a trace on you passport? Find the whole process very embarrassing, having already gone through the trauma of going bankrupt I now have to ask to go abroad. Feel like a criminal 😞

No you don't have to ask permission to go on holiday abroad, you are a free citizen and not a criminal. The only time you may have to say something is if you are having OR interviews etc. and they would need to know when it wasn't convenient to call. Who told you that you had to inform them.?

What do you mean by master of bankruptcy btw? Do you just menthe official receiver (OR)

ETA: good call IF :) might be slightly different rules there.

Northern Ireland does have different rules, and it looks like you do need permission from the OR to travel to GB or Republic of Ireland, need permission from court to go to other countries.
