Which external DVD-RW?

Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop, it’s quite a few years old and is certainly out of warranty. It has 4 GB Ram

Anyway the dvd-rw drive recently went belly up and it has been suggested that I get a external drive to replace the broken one. I’m not tech minded and don’t fancy fiddling around with the guts of the computer.

I was recently given an Argos gift token and would like to use it to buy a new drive but I’m not sure what I need, any recommendations.

What do I use the drive for? Watching the odd DVD, loading on a new program and that’s about it. I would like to be able to transfer some films and a bit of other material that I have on the computer to DVD but that’s just a like. As I said I’m not tech minded and I really only use my computer for day to day activities; internet, e-mail, word processing, that type of thing.

Any suggestions? Have I other options?
