When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning  feeling better than I did yesterday so going to work today... DD finally moved in yesterday, hope we are able to live together in a relatively stressfree way!

Things for today:
  • [STRIKE]checked banking[/STRIKE] - nothing unexpected
  • [STRIKE]read martin's email[/STRIKE]
  • quick shower & tie hair back
  • check onepoll
  • do swagbucks - hoping I can keep up yesterday's momentum
  • NSD?
  • stick to diet
  • remind oh to get packaging to send off camera & book at delivery with a courrier
  • [STRIKE]call talktalk and get mobile phones/international calls stopped[/STRIKE]
  • work hard and make the day go quickly
  • all meals from stores
  • get chicken out of the freezer for dinner

ok think that's my lot! Have a good day everyone x

    Hi everyone :hello:

I'm shifting some money about - things are still a bit stressy here moneywise. Skint is not the word. Am mildly amused at how little I can spend though - if only I'd spent so little when I had money then I wouldn't be in half this mess. Why do you not realise things like this until it's too late?! :(

    I'm walking to/from work
    Can of soup for lunch
Tinned fruit for a snack - no snack machine pour moi
Submitted surveys but hope I have time to finish the last review one - won't get paid otherwise
Signed up for some more surveys - still waiting to see if I'm picked
Call bank about £22 charge for going £1.04 over overdraft... :(

Not much else on the cards for me today - work is a nightmare so the main aim of the day is to struggle through - yesterday I almost hit a wall and couldn't think or figure out what I was doing - hoping today will be a bit more successful now I've had all night to try to 'figure it out in the background'.

    Catch up later guys xx
  • Good morning all!

Thanks to DNMS for starting us off, I'm glad you're feeling better :)

La E, hope that the bank are understanding. If it's NatWest you could be more persuasive?

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments yesterday RE the 50% mark. :) I'm in the astonishing postion (due to giant pay packet) of having paid all the rent/bills and still have a lump of money in my account. Unfortunately it's earmarked for other things. I am using a chunk of it to get a new pc. The hamster running ours has died I think :rotfl:

My friend in work builds pc's so I can get a good one for cheap. I'm also making it so that OH can record his music on it - you never know he might get paid for something!

    So today's MSE stuff:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner from stores (was naughty yesterday and had a Boots meal deal!)

Charge phone in work (must keep an eye on it as might get a call from letting agents, they are doing a check today)

Probably not any overtime, but am sick of working too much. Def wish to be doing other things!

Check online banking (stunning! But am still missing a mystery £100 that is in limbo. Long story)

Take food shopping ££ out of account so that it is separate from everything else.

Possibly count piggy bank later. He feels fairly full.

Can't really think of much else!

Have a good one guys :)

Morning everyone, Well last night was a night of mixed emotions managed to communicate a bit with dh, however ended up in an argument before bedtime so feeling a bit fed up today and can’t really be bothered.
DNMS – Thanks for staring us off this morning.

    Today’s plan of action:
:)[STRIKE]Walk ds to and from school [/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Check the freebies thread[/STRIKE] Ordered some items so wait and see what arrives.
:)[STRIKE]Check the bank to see if it is sorted yet and phone the bank to discuss any problems[/STRIKE] Looking good today as all money has now cleared into my account :j
    :)[STRIKE]Catch up with emails[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Collect up washing and do full loads[/STRIKE] - Hang outside if it brightens up Had to hang it inside as it didn't brighten up/.
    :)[STRIKE]All meals from stores[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Look into getting Martins emails, as I don’t seem to be receiving them recently[/STRIKE]
    :)Do some studying
:)[STRIKE]Complete surveys and check One Poll[/STRIKE] Some surveys completeg (made £1) and some surveys done on one poll so only need £4.55 now to claim.
:)Clean and tidy bedroom and change the bedding
:)[STRIKE]Sort goal list for next month[/STRIKE]
:)Clear all of the clutter from the desk and clean the computer
:)[STRIKE]Check and water the plants[/STRIKE], some of the plants are doing really well at the moment so we should manage to get some free veg
    :)[STRIKE]Sort tester paperwork[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]NSD and update the spending sheet from yesterday[/STRIKE]
:)Look into maximising bingo site that I use
:)[STRIKE]Contact company regarding money that I owe[/STRIKE] I have contacted the company and offered to pay £10 per month, which will take me 5 years to clear balance but I will make additional payment where I can so I think it makes sense.

Think that is everything that I need to achieve today, will wait and see how much I get done due to lack of motivation. Have a good Wednesday everyone x
