Wasn't sure where to post this so please move if necessary...
I have a large natural colour rug with a long pile, link here
It has seen a lot of wear in our living room. I "vax'ed" it today and although it definitely looks better, it is still noticeably grey-looking.
I'd really like to know if I can get it looking spectacularly bright again with any home remedies? Short of getting it dry-cleaned.
Thanks!

I don't know how much help it will be as every rug is different, but I scrubbed mine using a strongish solution of Stardrops and a scrubbing brush and it came up almost like new.
I had used a carpet cleaner on about 1/3 of the rug, but then ran out and didn't want to go and spend money on more, so made up the stardrops according to the recommendation on the bottle. Brought it up a treat.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I'd worry that using a scrubbing brush would just destroy the pile!
