    Hi all!
Im going to go it alone and do a self managed DMP! (tahnks for all the advice!) :D

my query now is getting out of my agreement with DFH. I have scrutinised their terms and conditions and apparently i have to give 2 weeks notice. My payment is due out on saturday and to put it simply, if that payment comes out i wont be able to afford my priority debts.

When i looked back over the conversations I had with them, i believe i was mislead. Firstly, they clearly told me that 'nothing in life comes for free and as will all companies, we do charge a fee'. I was completely unaware at that point that anyone could do a DMP for free and they certainly gave no indication of this. Secondly, during a conversation where they asked me to increase my monthly payment, i told them my fuel bills had gone up so i had no spare money. NO advice or help was given despite me telling them my circumstances had changed. And finally when I add up the amounts they sent me on my monthly statement, it comes to around £205. I pay £250 a month so they must be taking a £45 fee - i was always told their fee would be £35 a month.

I dont believe they have given me an adequate service and I will have to cancel the standing order this month as I simply cannot afford it.

    1. Does anyone have a template that I could use for writing to them to explain this? I am completely new to 'going it alone' so Im not quite savvy on any legislation i could quote to them for not providing a good service.
    2. Are they legally allowed to take money from my account if i cancel my standing order? They do have my card details as they requested my first payment was made with a debit card.

Any help would be massively appreciated! I feel that i am just about to take control of the situation which is quite empowering! :j

    Thanks xx
