Hi all
This is going to sound really stupid but when your doing your hampers where and what do you use for your containers and what is a reasonable price for them.
I was in pound stretcher today and things started at £2.50 for one of those storage boxes that fold and look funky as if you'd keep videos in them style ones. Or jute baskets at £4.50 each, or do people wrap up boxes that have been used i.e. photocopy paper. The baskets in there were tiny and started at £1.99 for one smaller than a one litre carton of orange juice - which seemed expensive - but I just don't know!
Sorry I am really confused !

You can usually find some wicker baskets at boot sales if you keep an eye out
alternatively ask around you be surprised how many people keep them just in case.
I`ve also covered cardboard boxes
Also there containers in £1 land / pound stores they say beer bucket on side if your doing mens hampers
they have winnie the pooh boxes for childen.
dulemn mills has a sale and they`re cheap there
ikea do resonably priced boxes too
also fruit boxes covered from green grocersChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Not an expert by any means, only ever done Xmas Eve hampers for my children (although I am going to try and make a few hampers this year for Xmas pressies) - for the Xmas Eve hampers I just use rectangle storage boxes and cover them in Xmas wrapping paper - as they are for my own kids I quietly take them away when they have got all their bits and store them again for next year lol.0

It doesn't have to be a box or even a wicker hamper....I've used large 'tote' bags for my girls (they were £3 each but I figure they will use them again for the beach/ shopping etc).
It gets easier if you have a 'theme'...you could use a wok, handbag, large plant pot, beer bucket etc depending on what your theme is.Stopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0 -
I got mine from boot fairs last year and paid less than £1 each (in some cases 10p!). For this year I got a set in Argos which were 75% off, and i'm keeping my eyes open for anything similar - will post if i see.0

Dunelm Mill have had some good baskets in the past, and I've also picked up some bargain ones from Pound Stretcher. I do like bags for hampers as well- shopper type ones work well and can be picked up cheaply from Supermarkets.
As others have said you can use all-sorts really. You can also tie it into the theme of your hamper.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator
