    They certainly were not a great deal for many people - but only in the same way as buying a house with a a very high LTV is not a good idea - but many many people did that as well rather than save up a decent sized deposit first.

    yep - spot on it was. thanks for teh comments. im going to pay it off today. all in its cost me about 8.5k - 9k for a 6600 loan. not as bad as others. i did not think it was illegal but all you here nowadays is claim back claim back claim back so I just wanted to check. great site. all good comments - even the cheeky ones !
