i have had my photos back from my engagement shoot and im not happy with them i was at first when i just flicked through them but properly looking at them now I am not happy
many of you may know the phonebox story - none of these photos have been included
the light is everywhere and it looks like i have vitaligo for many of the pictures
is there anything i can do with 3 and a bit months to go?
thank you from a sad double mummy

Depends what your contract says.
It might be worth asking friends etc for advice on alternatives, as it's much easier to know what you're getting into with reccomendations, especially at this late notice.0 -
contract says i lose my deposit which i can live with
have been in contact with some others but everyone who has been recomended is booked already

Can you be a bit more specific? Is it the composition of the photos or just the way they've been edited? Have you got them anywhere online which you could share? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to make it public.
What sometimes photographers can do is go a bit overboard with skin softening in photoshop and/or applying a preset/action to make their photos stand out. It's not always to everyone's taste.
A professional shouldn't mind at all if you go back and explain what style you prefer.
Not sure how much you've paid up front but worst case is probably losing your deposit and finding someone else who is to your taste. I know we're all on a budget but if photos are important to you then there's nothing worse than on your big day worrying about the photos you will get and then later being disappointed.0 -
There is still time to hire another photographer. But check your contract first.0

Yeah, at least you have the pre-shoot photos to see what they might turn out like.
I guess another suggestion would be to speak with the photographer again, explain your concerns & ask if they can rectify this, and maybe even do another pre-shoot on the proviso that if you're still not happy you'll have to reconsider.0 -
gadgeteer the only editing that has been done has been to have made a copy of every photo and turn it into black and white
but i will Pm you

Double mummy, is it not possible to meet with your photographer to go over the pictures and let her know the problem? Seems to be a bit odd that your pics are so different from the portfolio.0
