"we don't actually credit score people" - Equifax

There was an interview with the Executive Director of Equifax on Today this morning.

He lied. And based on that lie I suggest anyone who's paid Equifax for a 'credit score' should contact them for a refund.

You'll probably find the original poster has quoted him out of context...
He was probably talking in relation to lenders. it is true that they dont "credit score" people for lender's purposes, they only provide credit record information.
The credit score you pay for is private between you and them and only gives you a representative score based on Equifax's "criteria". This score doesnt count for diddly squat, nor is it used for anything other than your own peace of mind. That is why there is so much advice on hear about:
NEVER EVER PAYING FOR YOUR "CREDIT SCORE" WITH THESE COMPANIES
Remember: Context is everything.0 -
On no, theOP is perfectly correct that is what he said exactly which is what surprised me, I wasn't sure if they didn't and experians did, but I think the boss needs a bit more PR training, either that or clean up the business.0

Agreed - and the small print actually states this. Especially
"Equifax don't give your score to credit lenders. Lenders will often use their own scoring systems based on their specific lending criteria."Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
