Wescot/Arrow Global letter

Hi there
Just looking for a bit of advice please. I declared myself bankrupt back in Dec 2007 after a messy separation with my ex husband and have over the last twelve months or so been applying for credit once more.
I recently applied for a Barclaycard (a standard one which was declined, then an initial one) - I haven't had a response re the "initial" card application however anticipate that this will have been declined also given that it was three weeks ago when I applied.
However, today I have received a letter addressed to me in my maiden name from Arrow Global asking that if the addressee lives at this address to contact Wescot Credit Services quoting said reference......
I am just wondering what to do - I was probably stupid applying for a barclaycard given they were included in my bankruptcy a few years ago but had been successful in obtaining a Capital One card a few months ago even though they had been one of the creditors also in the past.
It seems a bit of a coincidence that I apply for a barclaycard then suddenly I receive a letter from Wescot/Arrow Global - this is also my new address and has been since last April that they have sent it to.
Please can anyone advise what would be the best course of action.
Many thanks

Typical "fishing" letter from Arrow/Wescot.
If it was me I would ignore for now and see if the right with actual details of a debt. If they do, and it was covered by your bankruptcy, then you could write telling them to "get lost".
Has probably popped up as the card application linked together some records on your credit report, letting them find any current address, or link some debt to you that they couldn't previously.
Have you tidied up your credit reports since bankruptcy?

Would probably be worth it if not, or at least wroth checking your credit report now, as Arrow Global have a nasty habit of placing very recent false defaults on old accounts.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks very much for your swift response.
I reckon it has been traced, as you said, as a result of my recent applications.
I am so worried about it - I have looked at other posts re Wescot on here though and it sounds as though it is probably best not to contact them. Applying for a credit card with a company who had been included in my bankruptcy wasn't illegal or anything was it? I am really panicking now - do you think they will send somebody to the house??
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it x0 -
There is no need to worry.
The debt is either not yours or covered by the bankruptcy. Either way, nothing they can do.
Very very very very very unlikely they would come to the house, but even if they did you just tell them to get lost. They have no powers or rights to do anything.
You did nothing illegal or wrong applying to a creditor that had a previous debt in your BR, so put that worry out of your mind as well please.
You honestly have nothing to panic or worry about, although I understand that is hard not to do.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Phew, that's a relief, thank you so much.
I will just ignore it for now and in the meantime I will obtain copies of my credit files as I am sure the default dates were incorrect on some accounts the last time I checked.
I am correct in thinking that all default dates should pre-date the date of bankruptcy aren't I?
Thanks0 -
Yes. Either predate, or be the exact date the bankruptcy order was granted. Not after.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
