I paid some money into an Abbey National retirement plan in the 1980s. Abbey National now taken over by Santander - who should I contact to find out about the account. I dont have a/c no or any details.

I believe Phoenix now hold old Abbey National Life policies after they bought all the Santander owned life assurance companies (Scottish Amicable and Scottish Provident and abbey national life)

Thanks for that. I thought he meant Abbey National's staff pension scheme, but now see that your suggestion is the more likely solution.

I think that is the staff pension trustees (their HR department is at the address given). I think dunstonh is correct, I'd start with Pheonix.
