Have to admit it has left me thinking of my mum. She died more than 30 years ago, but it took her more than a year of treatment and pain to go. Problem was it made her very bitter and she tried to push us all away, the last time she went into hospital she banned me from going to see her, thinking it would help me

At least Alan was still the same loving man at the end.

I've got to go out, but I really do not feel like it now.

Does anyone else think this thread should be closed and a new one opened in a day or two ? It just doesn't seem right to be jovial anymore, it is the sad end of a chapter and it just seems like this thread should be a tribute to Alan now.
