Current leading 5year mortgage?

Hi,

I have recently started looking at mortgages again and the comparison website I used to use isnt working, the others I cant seem to sort properly.

What is the current leading 5year mortgage for 85% LTV.

What site is easy to use for comparisons?

Just Google mortgage comparison and try a couple out? Different people like different sites for different reasons - I would try 2 or 3 just to make sure you are getting sight of as many offers as possible.

Do you mean 5 year totdal term? 5 year fix? 5 year tracker?

When you say 'leading' I assume you mean the lowest interest rate? Depending on your personal circumstances and financial history the lenders with the lowest rate might not be appropriate.

What amount do you want to borrow? No/low fee will suit a smaller mortgage while a better rate is probably going to suit a higher amount more.

    As R P W has asked - fix, tracker?

Sorry for lack on info it's been a while since I was asking mortgage related questions.

5yr fix on 85 ltv ratio, ftb on a house worth £180,000. No debts at all excellent credit history.

Situation is relatively straight forward so currently looking at best rates and for companies with decent reputation in makin the process go smoothly.

I have googles it many times but it's not easy sorting the different deals out.

    Thanks

Fixed rates at high LTV's tend to be high (imo) so I would tend to take as short a deal as possible so you could drop onto a lower SVR sooner, I can't see rates rising considerably for a good few years yet, hopefully in 2-3 years time things could be more competitive with lower margins on fixed rates?

If you are an all clear and not in a hurry customer, try HSBC/First Direct. They deal direct and are a bit picky and slow. However if you are as clean as you say you are, I do not see any problems in getting a deal from them.

Currently they are doing one of the best deals in the market.

My two favourites are the independent "Money Advice Service" and the Tesco Compare one (run by L&C mortgage advisers), using those two together I found that I was able to capture most of the market.

    Which? Money
    Money - http://www.money.co.uk/mortgages/85-mortgages.htm

I used all these and have a list somewhere of my findings from a month ago for a similar situation to yours. If you want me to dig it out send me a PM
