Which I didn't win.. yes exactly its that confusing.

Ok so I received an email saying:-

Congratulations you have been picked as the winner of the Accurist Mens Skymaster Leather Chronograph MS774B on the 21st June 2012!

To claim your prize, please click here.

Thank you for participating in our Daily Giveaway,

Kind regards,

The Watches2u team.

Needless to say I obviously clicked 'here'.. to find the link flat out DIDN'T work. I had no time as this point to send an email explaining it was down. Thought nothing of it really other than I had WON and went out as it was Friday night!

Poor decision it seems as when I got back from being out and finally sent the email I was apparently out with there 24hr period of response so no watch for me. I explained the difficulties I had had in a new email with the link on there site to the Watches2u crew but received this:-

Hi,

The terms on the giveaway do clearly state that we must receive your response within 24 hours, I am sorry but after this time the offer becomes void and we cannot re-activate it for you.

I can see from the email correspondence below that you were past the 24 hour deadline to reply, so unfortunately the offer is now cancelled.

Best regards,

Hmm that would be fine if the link to there site was active when I tried it. Because I know it was down.. and they don't have 2 winners in 24hrs so how they can know it was working I am very unsure. Anyway another email :-...

Hi,

The link has been working fine for everyone else, we've checked and there has not been any issues our end with our system.

We give out prizes every day, we don't get off on being witholding - but we can only honour prize winners when we receive a response within 24 hours as per the terms of the giveaway.

I'm sorry, there's nothing more we can do for you on this occasion.

So basically I have no way to prove there link didn't work. So there stacked up Terms and conditions win here? What an utterly guff state of affairs...

Anyone any ideas?

    Sorry to hear about that..

Some companies are strict with their reply deadlines and must have offered it to someone else

Hope your luck changes and a prize is around the corner .

    Sorry to hear your news.

I understand that as far as they`re concerned rules are rules but to me, it seems a bit rude of them to say that they "don`t get off on being witholding."

Better luck next time AllyBongoJ - onwards and upwards.

I don't enter these because of the T&Cs, 24hr response & must send photo in. Don't know why some promoters have such strict response times. For food stuffs, event tickets etc it's understandable. Unless this has happened to others then I don't think there is much you can do unfortunately. Better luck next time.
