Problems with Mortgage provider..

ok....

we have some arrears, not much, think it stands at around 700 pounds now.

we entered into an agreement with then and are paying about 50pounds a month off of this amount.

but for some reason, on there system i am showing as in breach of agreement, despite the fact that we have not missed one payment.

we pay by card over the phone, because my husband is payed fortnightly, and thus picking a monthly date when we are sure the cash is there is a nightmare.

their system or whatever refuses to recognize a payment we made in march.

we have the conformation number, and so do they, on their notes, the date everything works out, and i have had at least 5 members of staff tell me they will sort it out and get back to me.

TBH i am getting fed up of the daily calls etc, when i have done nothing wrong..

but what can i do about it??

grrrrrrr

you are in breach of the original agreement.
Maybe that is why it is showing as such?

we know that but obviously have had many long talks with them about this... and yes we get a breach of contract letter about this every quarter... but we are all happy with the agreement...

this is after talking with them.. they have admitted they are in the wrong and they have received the payment they are chasing me for... but the automated system isn't registering it as paid.... so i am getting calls and letters asking to to "contact them immediately to negotiate a new agreement"

I don't quite get what your annoyed about?

You are technically in arrears - just as I would be if you were my staff and I under paid you each month for a while.

Thier system surely reflects the truth, that you are in arrears, i'e' you've not paid on time in full for each month.

You can't exapect a technical massive system to be capable of recognising one off arrangments like yours.

Lots of people get paid bi - weekly or weekly but have been organised enough to plan ahead and thus pay on time in full.

If your'e really that bothered, pay all the arrears off now for example by not spending on fags or a holliday or skylanders or footie shirts for the kids (I don't know you but I have known people tell me they've no money yet they have plenty to spend on expensive junk food as an example)

    Bad day at the office?

I think the OP is trying to get at the fact that they are maintaining an arrangement but the lender keeps chasing them.

There isnt much you can do other than to keep on to them, perhaps say you will make a formal complaint and escalate it to FOS unless they resolve it.

Also check they are not adding additional charges for phone calls/letters to your account when you are maintaining an arrangement.

The sentiment of what Conrad put is correct (even if not written in the most polite manner) in that the faster you can pay off the arrears the better.

Sorry that some people on here seem to delight in being as judgemental and pathetic as possible - very brave over an anonymous internet forum, it wouldn't be quite the same thing if it were to abuse you face to face. Just take it from whence it comes - not everyone on here is quite that nasty or judgemental.

Gary is quite right - why not write to them putting the facts about the arrangement in writing and their failure to recognise your payments so that youcan start getting written proof together. Phone calls in this scenario are probably a waste of time.

It is a public forum, you would have probably got a completely different reaction on the debt free wannabe or similar sub sections.

However Conrad's post were unacceptable - it may be worth reporting them as not in the spirit of the forum.

    Straight red card I think..

The transaction can only be dated on the day it is processed. Its not possible to back date it.

Ignore the calls and the letters received. However suggest you put a complaint in writing. I suspect the call centre staff have no idea how to address the issue. So are taking no action.
