PayPal payment under review

Hi, I received a PP payment yesterday that is marked as being "under review". The message from PP says it may take "up to 24 hours" - DAK in practice how long it can take? Also, if anyone has had one of these, have they had it cleared and successfully completed the transaction, or am I doomed?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have had that happen to me - a random check apparently - which cleared after a day or so.0

Thanks, maybe it will work out OK then. Although the buyer has feedback of 1 (but a card on file). PayPal were a bit useless though - couldn't say whether there was something suspicious, and wouldn't firmly commit to the 24 hour timescale.
ETA: PP did clear it, in just over 24 hours. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Unfortunately, after PayPal cleared the payment, I sent the item out by courier.
It got there today, and have already had the email from the buyer saying it's no good (not good enough quality), they want a refund and they will pack it up for collection.
Combined with the PP review, I think I smell a pro.

I don't get it? If they want a refund they have to send it back. What is the significance of them saying 'come and collect it' other than them being wrong?I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Unfortunately, legally, if they are saying that the goods are "not as described" then they can just make them available for collection, rather than send them back. Supplier is still obliged to refund.
Basically, the low feedback and payment review makes me suspicious. I notice that they have left negs for INR for other sellers, so wonder whether the payment review was linked to that ie they make a habit of trying it on.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
It doesn't matter what the DSRs state, paypal will make them return it by a tracked method. If you're suspicious about the buyer ask them to return it. If they refuse then they will have to file a SNAD claim and them advising paypal that they have it available for collection will get them nowhere.Unfortunately, legally, if they are saying that the goods are "not as described" then they can just make them available for collection, rather than send them back. Yes, I have arranged collections in the past but in this case I suspect it may be throwing good money after bad. I will insist on a return and if they don't like it, they can sue. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
The plot thickens. I insisted they return the item. They said they were sending it and gave me a tracking number - same day collection ie today. Tracking number suggested they'd booked a service that the item couldn't be sent by (too heavy) - checked with courier (the reseller) who confirmed that it had been booked for a much lesser weight than the weight of the item. They said that the courier would not collect if it was the item I am actually meant to be getting back. Now the tracking has updated to "collected"...so who knows what I'll be getting back.
I will be waiting in for this one and inspecting before signing for. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
