Funding for dance training in England
Options
I am a performing arts student from Scotland, who through recent competition, was awarded a place at Cambridge Performing Arts (Bodyworks.) Funding is offered to the college in the form of DADA's which are currently few and far between. I had my DADA audition a couple of weeks ago and wasn't lucky enough to gain one. DADA's are awarded to the individuals who display the most potential for succeeding in the industry. While a few years ago I would agree with this, nowadays, there are so little awards that clearly they must have a limit as to how many individuals these can be awarded to.
When looking at other funding options, it is clear I am unable to recieve any financial support from SAAS. I would pay my loan back the exact same way other students would so why this is the case I have no idea.
I am currently in the process of looking into local charities and sponsors to try and raise the money to go. I have also set up a GoFundMe page where any donations would be warmly appreciated!!
Cambridge Performing Arts (Bodywork) have fees at £10, 500 per year. With the course being three years, this is incredibly expensive and doesn't even include accomodation or living expenses.
Is there any way I can get the money together to go? This has been my dream from a young age and I had been auditioning two years previous to this before I finally recieved a place. It would be an utter dream to train at this school as the dancing industry requires you to have 'three years training at a recognised college.'
Please help!
