I'm trying to get a loan, but have been refused because I lived in Spain for 8 years between 2002-2010, and only have 2 years credit score. Credit reports want addresses for past six years. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hello Tasha2812, you state you are trying to apply for a loan, do you mean a credit card loan or simply a straight forward cash loan?
If you're applying for a straight forward loan then you'll find it difficult and if you're lucky and manage to get one the loan company may require some major security.
I have been in a similar situation. I lived abroad for seven years and coming back with a zero rating was not good. Luckily I found a couple of credit cards that were prepared to 'risk' it.
Please be aware, be careful how many times you apply for a loan since refusal can have a negative impact on your credit ratin as well.
I hope this has helped in some way. Good luck0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to the Loans board, where it should get more replies. Did you have an account with a UK bank when you lived abroad?
If so try them.0
