just been to morrisons today they had potatoes on "offer" 1.5kg for 90p but a little further on they had 5kg bags for £1-78 .

In my local the 1.5kg bags for 90p were new potatoes (Nicola from Israel) and the 5kg bags were old potatoes.

The beans are £1 in Asda at the moment, I can't ever recall seeing them at £2.55 anywhere.

Me neither, but I stock up on them, so unless they have a big sign saying "4 for £1" I would not even look at them.

I think it's like those boxes of sweets that come out at xmas and easter. The shelves are full of them at half price, £2. But the rest of the year you never see them on sale for £4.

And do I need to mention tins of Roses, Quality Street etc.?

Beans are £1 at my local co-op. I have stocked up! :j
