in Credit cards
Hi, i want to transfer £7k of debt on to a 0% card. I have checked my history with Equifax and have had only 1 late payment and that was April 2011 on this credit card. Every single other payment has been made on time (this was my fault as i forgot i had this still to come out due to the royal wedding, the banks were closed and thus assumed it had came out)
AS i am disabled, i am on DLA (HRC & HRM) IS and HB. I have this for life but I am not in employment.
I want a 0% card, but alot of companys ask about employment. I know there must be companys out there who dont but id love to know who.
Right now, I am on 17.9% APR with Halifax on minimum payment.
I also have overdraft and loan but i have never missed a payment with the loan and has been being repaid at a nice monthly amount.
On Equifax i have also got 2 accounts (store credit) which are at £0 and not in use but one has 1750 limit.
Hope this helps you help me. thanks :-)
Because my credit history is fairly good with only one missed payment, i hope because I am disabled, this will not hamper me getting 0% card. Thanks

Does your own bank offer a 0% card? They would be a good place to start. As you have a lifelong condition you can put that you are retired.0

Some banks Will consider long term dla as an income. They can mark your application as unemployed with income and use the date of your first dla claim as your 'employment' term0

Which companys do you think would do that? What i am scared off, is applying for say Virgin Money who have 20 months 0% and them rejecting me, of which that means a failed credit check on my records. Oh, i have not had any searches on my records according to equifax0

Well the Halifax and bank of Scotland do, but you've already got a card there. Nationwide claim on their website to accept dla as a regular source of income. They have a soft search system for personal loans that doesn't affect your credit score. Id assume they do the same for credit cards but i can't be sure0

On closer inspection of the nationwide website they offer a card that gives you 0% for 20 months with a 3.1% handling fee. They Will give you a no obligation quote that won't affect your credit score0

Be sure to read each of the early pages carefully and you'll see that right up until the 'accept quote' screen no formal credit search will be made.0 -
Yeah its all on their website. Click on the credit card tab and have a look through the summary boxes. There's lot of information there, obviously i can't make the decision for you as to whether this would be the best credit for you so check out a couple of other providers too. I found the 'no obligation quote' by clicking on the apply now button. I just cancelled the screen after that. I don't know if they'd have the same facility in branch. Im working from a mobile so its not the best for navigating these sites. Hope this helps0

Failing this you may be better off to move your debt to a low rate loan.
Again, Nationwide recommended - you can get a real world quote without affecting your credit score.
You are not going to get a big enough credit limit from any one credit card provider to cover this debt. Even if you were on £30,000 a year salary you'd be hard pushed to get a limit high enough.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
