I have just finished my christmas day menu. I think it should be a thread by it's self though. Food seperate. Never mind, here it is. :):j

If you want a thread by itself then the best place to post is the Special Occasions & Other Celebrations board which every year is renamed the Chiristmas and special occasions board in Autumn for those who wish to post individual Christmas threads.

Love some of the ideas on here ladies and gents.

Christmas for us has become much simpler after I admitted to myself that we don't actually like most of the traditional foods like Christmas cake, mince pies, brandy butter etc.

So we tend to go with what we like and what is fairly easy to prep for me.

Ham in coke is a great hit in our house as is turkey however last year I got most of it sorted the night before with the aid of my pressure cooker....including the par boiled spuds for roasts.

I cooked a turkey crown in the pressure cooker and sliced and put in a tray of gravy ready to be reheated the next day, super easy and totally moist. the ham in coke, done in 40 mins or so, cooled and roasted off the next day with a treacle and brown sugar crust.

All veg prepped and done in no time at all.

Friends came over and they brought over a pudding, salted caramel icecream dessert, this was delicious.

I'm aiming for a similar prepped Christmas this year.:D

  • Thanks Possesion and Mossy for the great gift and makes links. Like the idea of retro sweet jars, perfect for the men of the family.

    Hi Soworried,

It doesn't need to be moved, it's absolutely fine where it is. :) It just puzzled me why you were complaining in this thread that you wanted a thread of your own when you already have one.

I have decided to give the vodka a go for my neice and her partner. I have a JTD voucher so it won't actually cost me anything to try it.
I love those retro book marks as well and will try them.
Thankyou for all the ideas. :)
