Western Union

Does anyone know anything about Western Union? Am having great difficulty with a transaction I made on 16/06/2012 which was apparently collected on 17/06/2012, which is a Sunday. The money was transferred for a friend working in Lagos. The only Western Union branches in Lagos are in banks and the banks do not open on a Sunday. My friend has not had his money and Western Union are telling me that it has been paid out but will not tell me the address where from and will not confirm who it was paid to. They have told me that I have to get the police involved for any information to be given but I hardly think that a monetary transaction of £230.00 is going to be high on their priority list!! Has anyone else had problems and what can I do now?
