Phasing

Hi, I am recently converted from CS1 to CS2 so have been subject to phasing. My question is as im aware phasing happens over a 5 year period, but if the NRP changes jobs does the phasing cease? Ive only been on phasing a year so far and the csa are telling me as soon as a change of circumstances happens that phasing stops does anyone know if this is correct?

if there is a change the phasing will be re looked at, this can mean the phasing will change, stay the same or cease it all depends on the change and how it affect the calculatioon each case is different

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
its really impossible to say - it wouldn't automatically cease if a change is completed it depends on how much the new assessment would be calculated in relation to the old assessed amount.

And where are the rules on this...? Or is this another "made up" legislation by the CSA....

It has to be explainable somewhere and in regulations we can all see or it cannot be legislation... ;)

As i said in a different post about these rules...

They where written into legislation 3 years BEFORE the CSA changed from CSA1 to CSA2, are these old rules they are using to there advantage, because it is NOT specific about what they are changing from and too. And if they are specific, how could they write into law rules 3 years before a change...? And a change that they promised would happen for everybody, but it turned out they could NOT legally do unless a new case was opened...

Crazy rules that are probably being misused in my opinion... ;)
  • the csa told me ANY change of circumstance would stop the phasing end of. Im sure this isnt right?????

What gets me is that phasing isn't in fact phasing...

If you look at it in it's entirety then the phasing is £2.50, £5 or £10 depending on income...

So i tried to work it out, and got well confused, if you earn over £400 then it is reduced by £10 per week over 5 years, meaning a £50 difference in the last year...!

But you could in theory go from being eligible for say £500 a month down to £200 a month and phasing still leaves a big drop at the end, and you paying hugely more than you should be... Because you are still assessed on the correct percentage for the new child added to cause the phasing move.... Talk about making things complicated for you and extremely unfair to the child who doesn't receive the same money...!!!

The other thing that really got my goat is phasing is only put in place if you pay MORE now, if you pay less now, there in NO phasing to make it easier for the NRP.... Very unfair and probably illegal if challenged i would think...! Discrimination is a wonderful thing... Haha
  • to be honest i still dont understand its all very confusing but then this is the csa for you they dont like to make thinks easy do they haha
