Hi all,
First post.....great site, I'll be browsing through regularly.
I went into voluntary bankruptcy 08/2007, discharged 04/2008.
In the last 6 months I have been offered and have accepted credit - a low credit level card, a corporate card and most recently car finance.
I looked at my credit reports for the first time in years recently, using the links on this site for Equifax, Experian and Noddle.
Of the total of 9 creditors (all of which were listed in the bankruptcy) 4 of them are showing status as defaulted - 3 of the 4 have updated this status within the last month. The rest have shown status as settled or satisfied - between 2007 and 2009.
The companies showing the status as defauted are RBS (Royal bank of...and RBS cards, Co-op and Equidebt) Interestingly a creditor on Equifax showing as settled in 2009 is listed on Noddle as a different company called Capquest - showing as defaulted dated as last month.
So......can anyone provide some knowledge or experience to help me understand why this might be the case and do I need to contact these companies asking them to update their records - or what the best course of action is?
Thank you,
TRW1

Hi and welcome
Yes you will need to get them to update your records.
Please follow the credit file cleanup thread, this will tell you what to do.
Basically you want them all to fall of your credit file along with your bankruptcy after 6 years, so in your case it should be next year.BSC Member 3510 -
