When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning guys me again! :p Yay to Friday's :j 7 hours till the weekend

Things for me today:

  • [STRIKE]checked banking[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]made cc payment[/STRIKE]

Thanks for starting us, DNMS! Your holiday post from yesterday sounded ah-mai-zing!!! Only hate you a little bit :)

Both roomie and boy have had nasty coughs / colds over the last week or so, and Im starting to feel it coming on to me. Nuking myself with old wives tales - inhaled steam from a bowl of garlic, ginger, tea, lemon and hot pepper last night, have eaten loads of raw garlic and fresh fruit and veg, drank about a litre of orange juice yesterday afternoon. Any suggestions, wise DFWers?

    Anyway, in MSE today:
    - bike everywhere I need to go and not going far!
    - making meatballs for dinner, just need the meat, wine and an egg really, have everything else
    - send thank you note for interview I had yesterday
    - finish up on work so i wont have so much to do over the weekend
    - check banking and update budget
    - bannanas for brekkie, lunch provided by work
    - early night watching the Wire, then try to sleep off the cold

    hugs to all :)

Good morning all, It’s a rather foggy day here at the moment but hopefully it will clear up later. Ended up not taking the kids out for their treat last night due to yet another argument, hoping to take them out tonight instead but will have to see what happens when dh gets in. I am thinking of ways to compromise with dh therefore going to see if I can find some ways to make money from home whilst having 2 kids around. Any ideas welcome.

    My list for today:
:)[STRIKE]Check closing time for local b&q store[/STRIKE] as voucher has arrived so can go an get paint for dd’s room.
:)Do some studying – I need to try and get back into it as not done any recently due to the problems.
:)[STRIKE]Collect up washing and do full loads[/STRIKE]
:)Try to get some ideas of how to make money from home
:)Do some of the ironing pile
:)Clean the kids rooms and change bedding Work in Progress
    :)[STRIKE]Do Mr A online shop armed with a list[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Put on the free socket covers and corner covers that I got yesterday[/STRIKE]
:)Complete the required website reviews Work in Progress
:)[STRIKE]Do surveys and check one poll[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Breakfast and lunch from stores[/STRIKE], possibly have dinner out tonight.

I think that is everything for today, Have a good day everyone x

I'll take your little hate and raise you seething with jealousy over your international career! :p

re cure - personally I find if I eat loads whatever the illness it goes away! I'm guessing its something to do with giving your immune system some energy to fight the bugs. Trust me it works! I'm hardly ever ill....

Well due to the unforseen circumatance of having a huge crane (that was delivering to a neighbours house) breakdown outside our back gate, I have been restricted to being indoors, so won't be able to collect present or go to HB - on the upside it is a NSD! However, on the downside DH can't get out either and has so far turned down 2 jobs today worth £150  So no pay for him today. Have had to put BIL on emergancy call to pick up DD from nursery as it has now been stuck for 5 hours and we can't get our cars in or out
