Klean-Prep Question

I have either my third or fourth colonoscopy Saturday morning, but it's my first time using Klean-Prep, I've always had Picolax before.

So, how easy to drink is Klean-Prep, and if I need to add some squash, which should I mix it with?

Thanks in anticipation (or maybe not :))!

I am having my first colonoscopy tomorrow morning so I am not an expert like you lol.

Tips I learned that I plan on putting into effect this evening..

Get some baby wipes and soft toilet paper, your bottom becomes sore from all the movements. use baby diaper rash cream, zinc oxide between movements it kills the pain.

Mix only 1 sachet of Klean Prep at a time, add lemon juice, some people mix it with ginger ale, whatever you prefer, juice or water and DRINK through a straw getting it as far back in your mouth as possible to avoid taste buds. Whatever you mix in the Klean Prep it mustn't be red or orange.

I still haven't decided what I will add to mine, I have a few things ready, lemons and apple juice as well as ginger ale.

I have some good reading material as I will be a while on the loo.

For some reason I am to start Klean Prep at 6pm for 2 sachets then get up at 5am for the other two :( The test is at 9.30am.

Another thing I learned was to eat lightly for the days leading up to the prep as less waste to expel, avoid red meats and eat chicken, rice etc.

    Good luck tomorrow!

I have to say the actual colonoscopy was a breeze, however I did find all that Klean Prep hard going. It helped to take gravol an hour before starting to drink it, the straw and lemon flavour helped too.

The morning doses I took the gravol too late and I did experience nausea etc and didn't finish all the Klean prep though I had the right coloured movements (they say when it is clear like urine you are clean)

My advice to anyone having a colonoscopy is not to put it off! I did for 6 years and it wasn't anything to worry about. I feel so much better now knowing everything is ok :)

PS Eating light the previous days to the prep day really helped! (chicken, fish, rice, all easy to digest foods avoiding red meats) I found I had very little 'clean out' and I was not glued to the loo. I had read stories of long hours spent on the loo but it didn't happen to me so a lighter diet will help the process!
