Pigmentation & self tan

I have quite a lot of pigmentation on my face & have been battling with it for quite a while.

So, was thinking about how could I disguise it as opposed to trying to fade it & wondered whether a gradual self tan cream or gradual self tan would help to blend it in? I don't want to to go dark, just a healthy glow.

Have never used a self tan cream or gradual self tan cream & if anyone has some good recommendations I'd be happy if you shared them.

Fake tan might blend the pigmentation in a bit but you will still see darker areas and fake tan on the face, especially long term just doesn't seem to go well and can look patchy if you have less than perfect skin, a good one to try that doesn't cost much is Boots own brand Soltan.

I would suggest a skin peel done professionally, it might cost a bit but the results are outstanding, it takes your skin back to basics and you can start again, I watched my age spots and sun damage actually peel off my face as my skin healed and now I have clear plump skin that hasn't looked this good in years. If you decide to do it, do it in the winter and book a week off work:)

I was thinking more of a gradual tan like Olay Total Effects with a touch of sunshine.

I couldn't afford a skin peel to be honest, so am trying to find ways which will hide the pigmentation. I'm fed up of trying to get rid of it, as nothing works (well nothing works in terms of what I can afford).

When i have used them I found the darker areas to go even darker

I wonder if you put it mainly on the areas where there is little or no pigmentation it would give a better result?

I have pigmentation on my upper lip - If I use fake tan I put moisturiser on my upper lip only before applying and then lightly wipe after applying so less is on there - it seems to work well. I use Bare Escentuals Faux Tan.

i have pigmentation as well - from getting sunburned in my youth

Nowadays - sun protection all year round on the face - SPF20 in moisturiser and cosmetics - and it has faded a lot, only darkening if I ever do catch the sun

I dont bother with the fake tan, like minnie I use BE Faux tan to even out my skin tone in the summer months - works a treat

How does the BE faux tan even out skin tone?

I might give it a try. I do use a good spf, but to be honest it hasn't made much difference. My dad had a certain amount of pigmentation, so I think it could, at least some degree, be genetic.

Sorry - not been online for a while

I use a mineral foundation then use the BE faux tan on top - using a huge bronzing brush - then just build up the colour depth so match it all in

faux tan is a really pigmented loose "powder" a tiny amount goes a long way, sometimes I dont even load the brush - just use it with whatever pigment is still caught in it to give a healthy glow
