After straightening my naturally curly hair for years, I was fed up with doing it so had my hair cut to a long bob with lots of layers and now wear it curly drying it with a diffuser.

I'm a bit out of touch with curly hair products and was just wondering if people have any recommendations for a Shampoo, Conditioner and maybe a Mousse to use too?

My hair is quite fine, home coloured and a bit frizzy, I'm currently using the Frizzease Shampoo, Conditioner & Mousse - not really that impressed with them would only really buy the Mousse again.

Like everyone I'm on a budget so conscious of the price, but also happy to pay more for something if it does a good job! ;)

Thanks!! :)

Frizzease have a serum (it's a long thin pump action container) that I think is pretty good. It's expensive but you don't use very much of it. They say to put it on soaking wet hair and I did try this lately while on holiday where my hair dried very fast and it really worked.

Otherwise I'd say sulphate free shampoos but then I'm a fan of them anyway.
  • My daughter has very curly hair and really like Aussie hair miracle moist. She also uses a scrunching gel to tame her curls

I have coloured curly hair, I have recently started using clynol shampoo. It's one my hairdresser uses herself and I have to say its made a lovely difference to my hair.

It's not as fuzzy, I wash my hair every 3/4 days, just spraying lightly with water each morning inbetween.

I bought the big salon size in the shampoo and conditioner, here's a link to what I got http://www.sallyexpress.com/viewProduct.aspx?pid=117107

I use Tigi curl rock on damp hair before diffusing it, it holds the curl really well which is why I don't need to over wash my hair.
  • I use the Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo/conditioner as well - smells like bubblegum :D

I also use a Pantene deep treatment sachet once a week, Shockwaves mousse and I used to use Schwarzkopf Got to be Glued hair gunk, but recently discovered Fudge's hair shaper and leave to dry naturally if I can. If I blow dry it, it gets the frizzies.

I can't get on with any of the Frizzease range, just make my hair worse.

  • My mum has fine curly hair & she loves "Aveda Be Curly" curl enhancing lotion.

Not sure what shampoo/conditioner she uses, however, she recently bought shampoo & conditioner from Liz Earle. I saw her today & her looked amazing.

I have just started using Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Hair Repair Conditioner. Its a "Leave-in" spray, very easy to use.

I have curly, type 2a/b hair that is coloured and long, after much trial and error I use Redken All Soft shampoo and Redken heavy cream conditioner and leave my hair to dry naturally with no other product and above all no heat, ever. Since I have been doing this there is a massive improvement to my hair, I used to hate my hair and would straighten it to within an inch of its life for years so its a big step forward for me - good luck:)

I have been looking at this website forum OMG WOW! It's like a whole new world and language too! "Low poo shampoo!!!" :p :rotfl:

Starting to get my head around it slowly, not sure about changing to the "curly girl" method yet. But think I'm now going to start by buying the more natural products less harsh products as my hair does fall out a Lot too. Probably gonna try the "Naked" curls range to start with.

Would advise all you other ladies with curly hair to definitely take a look at the forum! ;)
