Being chased over a debt that I have a CCJ on already

I've got someone pestering to meet me to give me an order to attend court, over a long ago debt that I have already had a CCJ for. He insists on meeting me tomorrow, what can I do about it, do I need to meet him, do I have to attend court again for the same debt, what shall I do?

Thanks

Does it have any impact that I've moved several times and have changed my name?

Is this the court bailiff trying to serve an order to obtain information?

I don't know, when I attended previously I wasn't asked to pay anything.

Sounds like they are trying to serve you with an order to attend, op wouldn't ignore as things may turn worse for you.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If you are issued with a court order to obtain information, it's very important that you go to the hearing and answer the questions you are asked. If you don't turn up and don't have a good reason why, or you don't answer the questions, you can be sent to prison.

  • Maybe they are actually trying to enforce the CCJ. You know a CCJ isn't a write-off, don't you? It's a county court judgment that means you owe someone some money. Was the CCJ awarded more than 6 years ago? That is the limit on chasing it. (I know, because we have a CCJ against someone that runs out early next year and we intend getting them back to court before then!)

Does that mean I should avoid seeing any officials regarding this matter, until I am over the 6 year mark?

How can I prove that the period has been over 6 years, I no longer have access to any details, after changing my name, bank and address.

You owe the money so go to court and make an arrangement to pay or it will only get worse. They won't stop till they serve you.
