Hi all, recently been trying to get my credit back on track after 16 years of the soon to be controlling ex wife's head in the sand attitude.

I've recently paid off 3 Llowell debts and they now show as settled on my Equifax credit report.

Llowell has written to me about another debt (overdrawn bank account). I wrote back thinking this was over 6 years old and statute barred, however they have written and said it became a default in 2008. My question is it doesn't appear on my credit report so are they telling porkies and trying it on?

I intend to write back asking for proof from HSBC but wanted to ask here too.

Get proof from them I had them chasing for an 02 bill which I was sure was over 6 years old, I hadn't had a contract with 02 since 2002 (which I thought was paid). They claimed I'd paid £1 in 2008, it actually turned out that the debt wasn't mine but my mother's and turned out that the whole amount was paid off in 2008!
