    I reckon it's genuine.

The TV appears to have been around for a while, and searches suggest that Argos used to say it "was £299 - now £229".

PC World's website claim the Advent X19TV, which is comparable, is available to collect from store for £129, but I can't find it in stock anywhere.

Overall, £149 seems a bargain - it's the cheapest 19" LCD TV I can find available to buy - but it's not so low as to obviously be a misprice. No stores around me have any, but are available to reserve for collection on Wednesday. That raises my suspicions, but fingers crossed the price will remain at £149 until I can pick up!

Also the one from argos is pretty crap, it does not take HDMI Cables, only DVI (No Sound) so you would need a seperate cable for sound.
    Connectivity

    DVI socket.

    1 SCART socket.

    PC input socket.

    Component video socket.

    Composite.

    Headphone socket.

    Rear AV socket.

As for not having HDMI - anyone who's willing to splash out on an HD-ready TV and then feed their HD source into the tiny, tinny speakers on the TV is an absolute fruit loop!

To trubster - I didn't even check whether the Advent was HD Ready, since I figure there'll be enough non-HD-ready TVs around for manufacturers to equip their devices with VGA output. £20 extra seems a reasonable price to pay to get HD Ready, although it's largely irrelevant since nobody can find the Advent anywhere!

I was thinking of buying this TV, if I use a HDMI --> DVI cable, what cable will I need to connect the sound?

Now you've got me stumped! I can't find any information on this TV anywhere. Acoustic Solutions's website doesn't even show any TVs on it!

Firstly, check what audio outputs you've got on the device with the HDMI output. If you're lucky, you'll have the standard red and white RCA plugs for analogue audio output.

Next, you'll have to wait for someone to get hold of one of these TVs and figure out what to do with it. Argos's page says it has "rear AV input", so it may well be that you just need a standard twin RCA cable, like > this <. I'll tell you what you'll need once I've got the TV.

Get a cheap surround system, though. It'll sound much better.

I bought the TV - its pretty good. It has RCA sockets so I will use an RCA cable for sound when using DVI.

The only problem I am having is with the scart switching - when I switch on my dvd player or Freeview box, it does not switch to AV automatically.
