Wearing False Teeth
Comments
-
It takes about 8 hours for me to be used to a new plate. I have teeth on a plate because when I was fifteen lumps of my teeth came off when the dentist took my cemented on brace off. I started with caps and went downhill from there. If you leave your plate in when you have an afternoon on your own, you can just breath through the gag reflex. Maybe a bit of fixadent on your plate will help. It might stop the feeling of them moving a bit and filling your mouth up. Good luck.0

well if its of any comfort to you, too me days to get used to talking with a front pate in and months before I could comfortably eat with it in. But you have to persevere - it gets easier.
I always thought I sounded like I had a lisp at first but no one else appeared to hear it. And eating was a nightmare and even now some 20 years later , if Im home alone and eating some foods, Im more comfortable removing the plate.
And dont get in the habit of wearing it at night. I was (am) so vain as to keep mine in 24/7 and now I suffer constant oral thrush which is so horrible.0
