Cheap software for students (and their families)

I got a letter from the school saying I could go to Software4schools and get greatly reduced software - up to 85% on microsoft titles Its a massive saving and although I am in Northern Ireland there must be a similar scheme through schools in the uk. Anyone know of it?

  • I did a search and found this thread from last year - so here's a link to a software deal for all children in full time education, where you can get various bundles of Microsoft and Adobe software for over 80% discount via RM, which is a big company supplying software and hardware to schools around the country. It works for Northern Ireland too, apparently. You need to specify your child's school from a list (and the list isn't entirely in alphabetical order so it might take you a while to find it), and you can't order more than one copy, but it's still an absolute bargain. The only slight downside that i can see is that you just get the disk, not the manual - but who reads software manuals these days?

For clarity's sake I will state here that I'm an employee of a subsidiary of RM, which is how I heard about it, but I don't get commission (or even brownie points) for this.

I bought office professional from software4students and it arrived very promptly. I also had a letter home from my son's school about the rm site so know this is legit too. Both are very cheap ways of getting software provided you have a child in full time education.
