I haven't paid anything off my debt today, infact I won't for the next few.

I paid out instead; car tax (12 months as Christmas is such a bad time to have to get it!) and petrol so an expensive day!

Can I ask if you have any plans for how you are going to do this please? I for one would love some extra tips and I'm sure others would as well.

Hope you don't mind sharing x

I will try LBM at Christmas when my bank account was hacked and needed some information and found 21 bank statements unopened in the drawer.Like many of us spent too much on rubbish and closed my eyes at the ATM as I didn't want to see it telling me I had no money.

Found this site and started to read and read and read.Decided to do something about it as I knew we were sinking fast.

Then 3 things happened in about a week ...My mum died,My DH was made redundant and DSS2 was kicked out of mums house and came to live with us. I found the only way I could cope was focus on something and found sorting out the money side was one thing I could control.

6 months on DH got a brilliant well paid job in Feb downside its 250 miles away so only comes home 4 days a month.
He is hourly paid and is doing approx 90 hours a week
I am also hourly paid and am doing between 50-60 hours a week in 2 jobs.
DSS2 is doing well and is taking his GCSE'S and is currently not working (which will change in summer hols lol) Just haven't told him yet :D
I am selling everything I don't need on Ebay which I can recommend to everyone and have made about £4,500 since Christmas.
I spend as little as I can and think about everything I spend and about 80% goes back on the shelf.
So no secret really just bl**dy hard work and sheer determination

Most of all this brilliant site and the help and encouragement and great advice from everyone on it.So thank you all and good luck to all of us.:T

Debt free and Mortgage free thank you to all for your encouragement and advice

Hi all, this could be just the motivation I need to help me get my head out of the sand and my backside into action. If it's not too late, I'd like to pledge to clear £635 in the remaining time.

Another £5 off today, so I am up to £25.52/£300!

That will be 8% paid then :j

And mavvymoo, you go for it! Best of luck, big target - think of the years off your mortgage term!
