American express and foursquare hoaxs

I've recently signed up to foursquare.
I saw that foursquare and American Express are running a deal/special at the moment. See the Martin Lewis website (search the deal)
I've tried and make use of these specials by shopping at the various places
-Nandos (Where I DID get my £10 back initially) [You spend £10+ and get £10 back from Amex)
-Primark (No Payment) [Spend £10.00+ and get £10.00 back]
-Tesco's (No Payment) [Spend £5.00+ and get £5.00 back]
-Bella Italia (No Payment) [Sped £10.00+ and get £10.00 back]
Im currently using a Lloydstsb Dual Avio Creditcard (Amex and Mastercard)
I've checked in at the various places like one should, and tried to 'load the deal to my card' (Which is one of the options)..yet to no avail (the last 3 places,I couldn't load the deal to my card, which I believe is a flaw from foursquare).
I've phoned both Lloydst and American Express who said that they wont be able to do anything.
So my next best bet is to get hold of Foursquare (which is where the problem comes in)
Any further help or advice would be much appreciated.
I've got in contact American Express and with Lloydstsb and both said I need to get in contact with Foursquare to try and sort the problem out.

Hi there Yorath1976 and thank you for your comment.
To answer your question..It does in deed have the blue background.
As I've stated,I've done the deal at Nando's and it worked perfectly (I've spend £19.50 on a Meal at Nando's and a couple of days later received the £10 back on my Creditcard.),but with the other deals "Tesco,Bella Italia,Primark (I've tried it at 3 difference Primarks now) it just doesn't seem to work at all.
My Girlfriend also made use of the so called "deals",and the same thing happened to her (She tried it at Tesco and Primark),and we are using different phones
After my first go at the deals (Started of with Primark),I thought that I may have done something wrong, and revisisted all related sites (to reflect on what actually needs to be done),and gave it another go..this time just at Nandos (The deal went through),I went to Tesco (to NO avail),went back to Primark (same story as before),and eventually ended up at Bella Italia (Checked in numerous amounts of time to see if something might happened,YET TO NO AVAIL):mad:
My only Bet now is to get hold of Foursquare (Who doesn't have a number) and get them to sort it out, since Lloydsts and Amex cant do anything about the problem (I've spend 4 and half hours on the phone yesterday, being transfered around between various departments at both Lloydst and Amex):mad:0 -
same here....
I had no end of trouble attempting to load to card the Nandos deal. Got in touch with customer support via amex and they've acknowledged that there was a problem but apparently has been sorted now. Problem is that I'm not willing to go and spend again to see if it would work!!:mad:0 -

Hi there nemoo.
If I may ask:
-When did this all happen?
-What sort of Amex Card do you have?
-Who did you speak to at Amex (A Name would be appreciated, since when i spoke to them, they had NO collection of what "foursquare" is and how it works, yet alone that they "Amex" run a deal together with Foursquare.
-Was the money paid back to you at the end by Amex, when you "reported" the problem?0 -
Mariusenslin, did this occur over last weekend? If you read the other forum about this:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3999387
you'll see that there are lots of people who it stopped working for over the last weekend, and it seems to have been restarted now. There seemed to be some breakdown at the point where you have to 'load' the offer to your card (it should be green, but was grey) but it didn't seem to recognise that you checked in as it repeated insisted that you had to (re)check in.0 -

Hi therer lyster101 and thank you very much for your contribution, especially the other post (the link that you've provided, since I was looking for "a" post already related to the problem, but couldnt find any, thus started my own post) :T
The problems occurred over the weekend starting the 10th Of June to be exact.0 -

This doesn't match my issues (Iphone 4S) over the weekend of 16-17th, although the symptoms are very similar. I've read your other post on the other thread and will also look out for this credit in 10 days time.
Keep hassling them!0 -
Date and device for my non "load-to-card" issue with Nandos was the same as lyster101 but symptoms are akin to all who've reported problems.
I first raised the issue to Amex Network Support (RegisteredCardSupport@pop3.maritz.com) who were totally unhelpful and inconsiderate, and kept on replying me with extracts out of a script. But I did mange to get confirmation that there was a problem at the time I was trying to load to card.
I then raised a complaint with Amex whom to their credit have resolved the issue within 2 days i.e. paid the cashback. But be sure to provide all data relating to your failed load to card attempt and proof that you "signed in" at the relevant "special" venue.
Personally, I prefer emailing via amex online account than calling as it's easy to let the frustration get the better of us and dilute the point we are trying to make (and avoid any conversation with bad "apples" in customer service). Moreover, you'll have a full audit trail of the discussion to support any further issues.
Last but not least, I have only ever tried to use one special so far so I'm not in the same boat as those who've tried to load as many specials as possible - if you know what I mean.
Good luck in your pursuit.0 -
To add to the above discussion:
I had a similar problem when trying my amex at Nandos. Mine is the cashback one.
Anyway, it all got sorted. Seemed like a problem with the 4Square app. I tried it at Primark, Nando's, Tesco and Pizza Express last week. Got the credit for all of them.0 -
I've only tried this twice, Nandos (Finchley) and Tesco (Norwich). Both times the credit appeared on my card within a few days. I've got a BMI Amex / Visa account.
