Nursing Home Fees Refund

I have been told that it may be possible to recover Care home fees as there were wide and varied range of different assessment criteria to establish whether or not a patient was eligible to have their Nursing Home fees paid. As my Aunt had severe dementia when she lived in the home I maybe able to claim and wondered if anyone else had started a claim. The deadline I am told is September which does not give anyone much time. I can see lots of companies offering to start a claim but I wondered if it was possible to claim without them.

The OP wishes to claim for NHS Continuing Health Care. I started this process nearly 2 years ago and am still waiting to go to a tribunal. The PCT are now telling me that they are prioritising cases received since April this year!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

The only thing you need to do before September is to advise the PCT that you wish to claim. You can do this yourself.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

If you google 'NHS Continuing Care' there is lots of info out there. I think there is also a thread on here from someone who is pursuing a case. Plus there are a couple of forums specifically for this. I will try to look later on and post the links if I can find them. Also, you could try contacting the Alzheimers Society. There is a number on their website you can ring and you should be able to speak to someone who has already brought a case and can give you advice.3 stone down, 3 more to go0
