When you write on the plaques what type of pen do you use and how do you make your handwriting neat?-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Hi, I tend to use sharpie pens or gel pens. Hope that helps. For the handwriting its a bit of practice makes perfect. Look at different style writing on plaques on ebay and just find one that is comfortable for you to do.0

i have neat handwriting, so i thought it would be easy
but the first 2 i did, i did in pencil first
bad idea, because you are going over something, you tend to write slower, and it just didnt look natural
so i ended up painting an off cut from the shed, and practicing on that to get the feel for writing on a painted surface
my top tip would be, sand between coats
it may look very smooth,
but write over one bump, you need to start again
i use the double ended sharpies0 -
Thank you both for your help, it's much appreciated.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Sometimes it can be the pen/pencil you use that makes it drag on the painted surface. It helps if you keep the writing going, not stopping and starting.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Could those of you who make these tell me where you get the wooden plaques from? Thank you!0

PoppyGirl, do you mean blank wooden plaques? If so, just search on eBay, you will find loads. Just remember to check the postage as some sellers seem to charge quite a lot.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Yes thanks I meant the blank plaques. I had seen some on ebay, but didn't know if there was an online shop somewhere that was cheaper, as some of them seemed expensive!0

Another MSE'er recommended this link a while back (sorry I forget who it was)
