Repossession following bankruptcy

  • WIN123 can't you contact your creditors to explain that the cost of living has gone up since you started your DMP and tell them that you need to lower the payments. Don't worry how many years it will go on for - you just need to be comfortable going forward. You do not deserve to lose your home and surely if it ever came to that the fact that you had tried your best to reduce your payments would go in your favour. When I spoke to CCCS a few years ago they gave me set amounts for our family of 4 that we could say we needed for food per week, even things like haircuts, clothes, dentists, opticians, home repair. You are allowed to include these first then you can only pay to creditors what is left. I hope this helps.

Hi, I think you would be better off starting your own thread, but here is M.R.S. info.........http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/debt_and_arrears/mortgage_arrears/government_mortgage_rescue_scheme

Also, your local council will almost certainly have a STATUTORY DUTY to re house you and your Son.

I have assisted several clients in to MRS, and many in to accomodation via the statutory duties upon councils under the Homeless legislation.
