When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!

Morning guys  thanks for the warm welcome back :D NTBY I will give the low down on my hol but so busy at the moment! Something very big is happening in my life at the moment my dd is moving home with us! So since we have returned that is taking up all of my time - decorating her room, getting furniture and spending time with her. It seems that she's ready to receive some help so hopefully it will be a good experience for us all and she really needs her family...

    Things to do today:
    • [STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]return library books[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]all meals from stores[/STRIKE]
    • stick to diet so far so good....
    • going to look at a wardrobe tonight - hopefully will be able to haggle the price down!
    • do oil, air & water checks on car
    • get petrol at cheapest place
    • go to the gym
    • [STRIKE]sort out isa fiasco[/STRIKE] yay the co ck up has been reversed :T
    • call tesco & swap vouchers for rewards

ok think that's me! Have a great day, I'd better get ready! x

    • Good morning!

It seems I'm an early bird today! Thanks to DNMS for starting us off. That is exciting news for you about your DD.

Feeling fairly positive today. Just got work to do but it's less than a week until payday and I'm off work to attend a wedding on Friday _party_ (although I am a bit nervous because it means driving to Leeds and I get a bit frightenend on the motorway :o)

      Today's list:

      Check online banking

      Charge phone in work

Breakfast, lunch and dinner from stores

Go to Asda as OH didn't yesterday

      Walk home (good for diet)

Stick to diet (with you on this one DNMS! I was quite good yesterday)

      Little bit of overtime

Check the bike I am bidding on on ebay. It will be good for me to cycle to work instead of making OH drop me off. Although it forces him to get out of bed which is a good thing :p

Anyhoo, have a good day all :)

omg DNMS how exciting!! Really hope this is the start of a super positive part of her life :) will still be expecting those hol stories though, you're not off the hook :P

Great to see you again, La E!

I had a job interview yesterday by phone, which I think went really well. Still need to decide if I actually want to relocate (I LOVE Kampala but really want the humanitarian experience before Im too old and settled, salary would be nearly double what I make now though Juba is much more expensive than Kampala, I love my current employer but suspect that the end of my contract in 9 months or so will be a political poo-storm), and I contacted a recruiter a while ago on a whim and hes actually come back with loads of good options in Kenya and elsewhere, two of which Im interviewing for on Thursday. Decisions decisions!

Anywho, back to the here and now.

      - bike everywhere i need to go
      - hand off makeup my friend had me buy so she can pay me back
      - meet friends at local happy hour, dirt cheap vino!
      - leftovers for tea if we dont end up having a drunken pizza
      - send recruiter a writing sample
      - probably stumble home and watch the wire, just got the third season in!

      Hugs to all.
