Nationwide application

Hi,
We are about to apply for a Nationwide mortgage. I have just checked my credit report on Equifax. Everything is fine. I have a perfect credit record except for 1 credit card, Barclaycard. I have 2 x 1 month late payments in 2008, 3 x 1 month in 2009 and 1 in march 2010. Unfortunately, I used to have a habit of waiting till the last moment to pay my cards. Since then it's been ok on that card too.
I'm asking to borrow £120k on a £340k house. I earn £37k. Will those late payments scupper my application? Everything else is green and pleasant, that's 2 mobile contracts, virgin media, woolwich mortgage, m&s loan and other store and credit cards?
TIA for any replies.

Not a perfect credit record. To achieve that you need no late payments.
How much do you in terms of unsecured debt?0 -

Did you bother to open a Nationwide flex account ?

I said a perfect credit record except for 1 card. There are 17 items on the equifax list and they are all green except 1, the one I have mentioned. I have about £2500 on a credit card.0

Yes, we have a nationwide flex account (it's not our main bank account, so nothing in it at the moment) and a nationwide credit card.0

I hope you didn't miss out on a 4.25% instant access ISA then. If you are chosen by the Nationwide then you may have to pledge that you repay your outstanding credit card debts at short notice. They made me do this even though they were at 0%

If you had wanted 90% you may struggle at 35% or so as you are you should be fine, don't worry go ahead, I have had a lot worse agreed by them.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Sorry to butt in, but do you need a nationwide flex account to apply for a nationwide mortgage?
