Applications for credit card affect remortgage?

:oApologies if already asked recently, but I can't find any threads.
We're off on holiday in August and I want a holiday CC to use at good purchase rates.
I will be remortgaging in December.
In April, I took out a BMI credit card for the miles deal.
I also have a few other CCs which I've had for years. Total credit I could access is about £15k, but have never really used it and always paid each bill on time, both CCs and mortgage.
Should I apply for a Post Office card this month and be successful - will my remortgage application in November be less secure or be offered at higher rates than otherwise?
Thanks

It is possible that having multiple credit cards could affect a mortgage application, but it depends on how it is viewed by the lender in question and exactly how the cards are maintained.
You dont say if you clear the full balance of the credit cards each month?
Might be best to cancel any old cards you dont use any more, and stick to just 1 or 2. I wouldnt have thought a lender would view it badly if you cancelled one card and started another, as long as they are maintained properly, and your credit history is generally good.
