When does it start to get better?

I know people are in far worse debts and situations than myself, but really not enjoying the ride of this thing they call life at the moment.

It's pay day on Friday, seriously stressing over how £670 is going to cover everything we need it to and sticking to the debt agreements I've already made.

Got turned down for a 2nd job yesterday; could have really done with the extra money :(

Have had numerous missed calls, texts and emails from the various pay day loans :(

And to top it off (considering it's only Tuesday), my manager pulled me to one side this morning and had a word with me...some of the other staff have been !!!!!ing and apparently reported to her I'm not a team player and don't help out when she's not there and just do what I want to do. Jolly nice. I already hated the bloody place as it was.

Blurg. Sorry for the moan!

    Hi Bex

Sorry to hear you are having a bit of a stressful time at the moment, but you've come to the right place and I'm sure others will be along soon to give some helpful advice!

Could you post a SOA (statement of affairs) so that we can see what your incomings and outgoings look like and then advise you from there? If you cannot afford to repay what you have agreed to you will need to contact each creditor and let them know what you can afford to pay - it is better to be upfront and honest with them than to miss a payment.

Regarding work, obviously this is the last thing you want to hear, but my advice would be to just keep your head down and try and stay out of all of the dramas - if you are unhappy, think about looking for another job, but at the moment, just see it as a way to pay the bills.

Perhaps re-working your budget slightly will make all the difference.

Hope you are feeling a bit happier today.

    xx

In answer to your question it starts to get better once your payments are on track and you really really realise that its not a crime to have debt and that it can be sorted. You've already started :)

Also it might help your sanity to write to all/any creditors and tell them they may only contact you in writing - do a search on here, there is a standard letter.

It gets easier - it's not easy but it does. You need to speak to your creditors and see what you can do then tell them.

Work pays your bills so try and think of it like that and look for a new job. You need it at the mo so try to stick in. It will come good.

If you have it all written down in front of you then you can tackle it head on.

Have you reduced everything you can, grocery budget etc?

  • Hey bexiboo92, just wanted to say I hope you feel lifted soon.

Don't forget, they can't take what you aren't able to give them. They are perfectly able to wait, so you take the time you need to sort it out correctly.

It's often easy to feel like everything is going against you. Hopefully those are the times we can help you out!

Don't forget if you're spending your working day somewhere you totally hate that's going to affect your mood too (even without the added pressure of debts)

Keep looking for a second job that you'll enjoy. I used to work in a bar in the eves, it was great to have that social element & even a new group of friends. Are you based in the north/south? I could keep an eye out for any 2nd jobs that might suit.
