Help: First time buyer - Adverse

Morning folks

I'm hoping to place an offer on a property currently marketed at offers over £55,000. However, I am not confident of getting a mortgage.

I'm 22 years old, and I'm currently self-employed (as of Dec 06). I would need to self cert my income on this, but I believe it to be £25-30,000 p/a.

I have 2 credit cards, both no longer have balances on them, however both have suffered from missed/late payments in the past.

I also have 2 entries on my credit file, which I have already contacted experian to question as both have been cleared in full. One being a store card, and the other from O2.

My experian credit search showed a score of 541 :(

I have no debt as such, and have approximately £3-4000 of a deposit to provide.

Do I fit any lenders criteria?

Thanks all

Don't know much on credit, but looking at the amount you want to borrow (<55k with deposit) and how much you earn can't see that side of it being a problem at all.

Maybe some of other guys on here can help with your credit rating and what to do.

Plenty of lenders will look at this but not all high street lenders will accept adverse credit. be careful if you intend aplying to lenders direct as too many searches on your credit rating will lower your credit score even further. Use a fee's free whole of market broker.
