Undercounter fridge freezers

Hello all,

I've just bought a new batchelor pad, and want a fridge freezer which fits under my work counter. I don't mean one of those fridges with an ice box too small for a bag of peas. I don't want side by side units.I want an actual fridge AND freezer whixch is split 50/50. Problem is, I can't find one anywhere.

I won't have much food in, but will have some that needs freezing. Have I spotted a gap in the market, or am I just being too picky??

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Never seen one that is standard size that splits 50/50. Not to say there isn't tho!

I know you can get extra narrow fridges & freezers to go side by size wlthough the total width would prob be 1.5 times the size of standard fridge space I would think.

These are called Larder fridges / freezers. If you google this, they will come up.

I have seen a side by side fridge/freezer made by Zanussi in the past so it might be worth looking at their current product range.

I've got one of what the last poster was referring to, it's a Zanussi ZERT 2170X. Basically it's a 90cm wide (i.e. 1.5xnormal) fridge/freezer with effectively a 60cm fridge on the right hand side and a 30cm freezer on the left.

It was perfect for me as my kitchen didn't have space for two appliances, i.e. I could only have a fridge or at best one with a mickey mouse ice box. But I could just manage to get 90cm of space to fit one of these (no way to get 100cm of space to get a fridge and a freezer side by side).

But I'm not sure that it's what the original poster was really after - why do you want it, do you have limited space (if so 60cm or more?) or do you just prefer integrated rather than seperate (generally seperates will have seperate compressors so are more efficient and effective, although obviously more expensive).

i have one of these due to the same space issues got it from Index about 6 years ago and paid about £ 250 for it - never had any problems and its still going strong though it is now used as a back up in the garage. I know at the time i was looking you could get them on special order from Currys or Comet don't know if that would still be the case
