I know there are. It winds me up a bit I'm afraid.
There are some absolute howlers written on what you would think are reliable websites.
Even PayPlan got it tragically wrong a while back

A debt advice service like PayPlan should know better.
Problem is, one person writes some rubbish and puts it online. Other people take it as gospel, and repeat or re-write it for their own site without checking the actual facts.
The whole thing snowballs with utter nonsense all over the web. :mad:Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Okay after contacting equifax to get this bloody thing removed I have had a reply to contact halifax no reference number or phone number after 30 mins on the phone yesterday to halifax at a cost of £3.33 I have been told that I need to write to them or go into a branch as they can't access my old account as I have failed the secruity questions (as the account is over 10 years old I'm not going remember the overdraft amount or the standing orders/direct debits or last purchases). So I need to go into the branch what should I say as in what regulations they are breaking etc and can I get compension for my wasting time and cost of calls?Total Debt: £4610.75
