2003 Bankruptcy showing in credit checks?

I was made personally bankrupt in 2003 and discharged in 2005.
When applying to rent a property 18 months ago I failed the credit check because of my bankruptcy.
Myself and my other half are trying to get a mortgage at the moment and I was wondering if I will fall at this hurdle. Is there a set time frame that the bankruptcy is no longer 'detectable'??

It lasts 6 years from discharge! Thats a bit surprising that its showing up on your credit record still.
Have you cleaned up your credit files and got all your defaults etc marked as satisifed, as per the sticky?
Have you personally checked your credit files with any of the 3 CRA's?

The bankruptcy remains on your credit files for 6 years from date your went BR.
So it should have fallen off your files in 2009.
Have you had a look at your credit files?
Even though it falls of your reports the bankruptcy is still 'detectable' as it will be in the London gazette which any company/individual can check.
Edit- beaten to it
